We were able to stay overnight at the cottage ourselves on Friday and to take advantage of the mini bus down to The Ship at the Weir to enjoy some (well one or two) of the many fine beers and ciders on offer and the live music at The Weirfest.
On Saturday we spent a few hours working in the garden. After what seems like days of rain, the sun came out and the sky was an intense blue. The sea was almost navy with white horses rolling in offset by the deep green of the trees on Hurlestone Point. The deep pink hollyhocks all around the front of the cottage are just about to come out. We would have liked to have stayed on ourselves.
We are planning our next improvement. A seating area up the garden in which to enjoy an early morning coffee or an early evening G&T whilst looking at the view.
